Myth of beauty

'Plain Jane'
ordinary looking girls
have to walk an extra mile
Need to smile more
Be more kinder
More compromising

While the world tell us
and asks us to believe
that beauty lies within
and not in skin
Still, we know the reality
that
While others have beauty
We need to develop
a 'character'
We need 'talent'

Then one in among of us
like Susan Boyle
Stands up to perform
While being ridiculed
Then, a silence follows soon after

  1. in some ways u've echoed my feelings as well...still, there's also much truth when someone says, "I've never seen a smiling face that was not beautiful"

  2. Thank you hawaji for your comments, indeed you are right about ' there is no beauty without smile', but again with the beautiful girls, they are told, 'u look cute when u r angry', dont they ? I am not against beauty but just observing on the lives of women who are not 'conventionally' beautiful

  3. Beauty is as ephemeral as a smile. But words have depth and breathe life into feelings. They last. Yours does.

  4. There is not beauty in beauty actually. It depends on our sight. We can see beauty even in smile of an ugly face. So smile is beauty itself. But smile is not only beauty itself. Who are not beautyful on surface, they are beautyful on other part.

  5. I guess you need personality rather than beauty. A smile always gives that "vive" that this is a nice person to talk to. Besides, beauty fades after 40-50 but, personality and that comment, "She is a nice person" stays for a long long time.
